Telnet is a network protocol used on a network to provide two way text communication with the help of a virtual terminal connection. There are various terminal emulator programs which record the log of COM ports and telnet connections. But most of these applications support single session monitoring of these connections. If you require to monitor other simultaneous sessions, you need to re-initialize the application. In such cases, you require a terminal emulation application which can support a number of simultaneous sessions at any given time. FoxTerm v.1.4.9.0 is one such application.
FoxTerm by Senka Software is a freeware terminal emulator program which supports multiple sessions at a time. The interface of the program is simple consisting of separate windows showing details of each session. This program is meant for advanced users. In traditional applications, you have to open a separate application instance for each individual session which may lead to complexity in the viewing and management of these sessions. This program allows the user to view multiple connections in a single session. Thus, when you have multiple connections, you just have to bring up the window for each connection, thereby eliminating the need for opening multiple connections separately. The sessions are saved in XML format and thus can be easily edited whenever required. For running a macro after establishing a connection, it has a macro startup feature. Apart from this, it supports improved scripting and SSH connection.
To sum up, FoxTerm v.1.4.9.0 provides a comprehensive functionality related to multiple sessions of COM ports and telnet connections. Being a freeware, its advanced features for viewing and managing the log files pertaining to these multiple connections give it an advantage over other applications of same class. Hence, it receives a score of four rating points on the scale of five.
